Calling all referee’s

Dear colleagues,

At 7.45pm on Tuesday 10 January 2012 our guest speaker at Silsden AFC, Keighley Road, Silsden is Graeme Atkins from Bradford Referees’ Association.

It is several years since we last had the pleasure of his company . I can ensure you all that this will be an informative and entertaining evening.

The evening is open to all – you do not have to be a referee to attend.
Graeme started his refereeing career in 1979 in the West Riding County Amateur and Northern Intermediate Leagues. He was appointed as a contributory league referee in 1988 and was promoted as an assistant to the Football League in 1989 – 90.

In 1993-1994, he was placed on the select group of assistant referees for the FA Premier League, a position he held for 14 years until his retirement in 2008.

In 1999, he was appointed to the FIFA list of assistant referees, which led to 46 trips over 5 years travelling round Europe officiating in club and international fixtures.

One of the highlights of his career was to do the last between Chelsea and Aston Villa.

Following his retirement he began assessing at contributory league level and after his first season was successful in being promoted to assessing on the Football League.

A pie & pea supper is available @ £2.00 per person. If you wish to order please confirm so with your reply
